Free chemical resistance testing

The DPI NSW, in collaboration with AWI, are seeking your involvement in an important research project to investigate blowfly resistance to the commonly used flystrike chemicals.

An important outcome from this project will be the development of updated, consistent, and reliable resistance management advice to woolgrowers, helping prolong the effectiveness of existing chemical products, whilst avoiding or delaying the development of resistance of flies to them.

As part of the project, your maggots will be tested for all the current chemical groups, see below.

This testing would normally cost $346 plus postage, however for contributing your maggots to the project the testing and postage costs are FREE.  And it doesn’t stop there, because you will also get a detailed email or phone call from Narelle Sales, lead researcher for the project, explaining exactly what the results mean.

To get involved or to find out more information about the project contact lead researcher Narelle Sales.
