  • Sally Martin

    SENIOR DIRECTOR/SHEEP GENETICS CONSULTANT

    Sally is passionate about rural communities, agriculture and more specifically the Australian sheep and wool industry. Sally loves working with the diversity of people and situations in the sheep industry and bringing science and data to clients finger tips.

    Sally grew up on a grazing property on the Monaro NSW. Studied Agriculture Science at University of Western Sydney Hawkesbury and Post Graduate studies at University of New England and Sydney University focusing on Animal Breeding Management.

    Sally’s career spans over 30 years, 20 years with NSW DPI and since 2011 Sally set up Sally Martin Consulting (now SheepMetriX) that services a current client base ranging across NSW, VIC, WA and more recently the Falkland Islands, Patagonia Argentina and Spain.

    Awards include – 2011 Runner-up NSW RIRDC Rural Women’s Award; 2013 100 Women of Influence; 2017 Inaugural Australian Wool Industry Award; 2018 National Farmers Inaugural Ag Diversity Leadership Program.

    Committee positions – Invited member of the NSW eID Sheep & Goat Traceability Reference Group; Sheep Genetics Advisory Committee member; Peter Westblade Scholarship Treasurer; past MerinoLink CEO and Director.

  • Bridget Parkman

    SHEEP & WOOL CONSULTANT

    Bridget grew up on, and has been heavily involved in, her family’s farm, situated near Murringo, a few kilometers East of Young, NSW.

    She completed a Bachelor of Animal Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga in 2021, gaining important industry knowledge.

    Bridget is passionate about animal health and welfare, agribusiness, information extension and production efficiency.

    Since joining the SheepMetrix Team in early 2022, Bridget has enjoyed participating in data collection and analysis, engaging in industry events, and working with like-minded people in the sheep industry. She is now coordinating the South West Slopes Sire Evaluation running from 2025 - 2027 and looks forward to the challenge.

  • Leigh Higgins

    SHEEP & WOOL CONSULTANT

    Leigh grew up on a sheep, beef and dairy grazing property in North Canterbury, New Zealand.

    She completed a Bachelor of Agriculture at Lincoln University in NZ in 2022, gaining a wide range of industry knowledge. She particularly enjoyed the animal science subjects and is interested in expanding her knowledge of sheep genetics.

    Leigh’s passion for agriculture grew from her upbringing in the small rural town of Waiau. Through university work experience on sheep, beef and dairy farms she has gained an understanding of different systems and how to manage these.

    Leigh moved to Young NSW in 2023 and is excited about networking with like-minded people in the Australian sheep industry.
